VUCA — What it is? In 2024

 

Have you ever heard about VUCA?

VUCA stands for volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. It describes the situation of constant, unpredictable change that is now the norm in certain industries and areas of the business world.

In this modern era, we can see that technology is growing so fast than before. Lots of new inventions, innovations, information, etc. For example, now Artificial Intelligent (AI) is trending and becoming popular. AI can be used for asking a question, generating an image, solving a problem, make coding, etc. But can we handle it if it’s going out of control?

Some jobs getting replaced by AI such as Buzzfeed that getting their news created by ChatGPT. Not only that, but in my country one of the television news hosts already used AI. We can also see a lot of new AI Artists that use Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Dall-e, BlueWillows, etc to generate images through prompts that we type. I also use it for testing and it turns out to be good that you can see the result on this link.

If we’re gonna talk about volatile, see about cryptocurrency. A lot of people are using stocks, bonds, gold, ETFs, etc in the past. But when blockchain technology is booming, cryptocurrency also got hyped up and bitcoin prices went up sharply. Many investors and traders are trying to enter crypto. Some of them got a lot of profit but a lot of them got lost too. It’s because there is no regulation to control the price since it’s using blockchain technology where it’s decentralized. It’s not the same with stocks that have a regulation to limit where the price is getting held when touching the resistance and support. Several people are mining crypto in order to get a lot of money, but some of them didn’t care about the impact of using that huge amount of electricity that can damage the environment.

The coding language also expanding and become more complex. The digital era makes people have a more complex lifestyle. Needs and wants become more higher than in the past. Teenagers that can’t control themself and Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) are mostly getting mental health problems because they are afraid can’t catch up with new trends.
